FORMER Bradford Bulls star Elliot Minchella will miss the rest of the Super League season after suffering a dreadful ACL injury.
The Hull KR vice-captain picked up the injury in the closing stages of his side's defeat to reigning champions St Helens last Thursday.
Rovers were hoping scans would ease their fears, but sadly it is the worst case scenario, with Minchella set for several months on the sidelines.
On Twitter this afternoon, he said: "Unfortunately my 2021 season is over.
"An ACL injury is every player's nightmare but I’ve had bigger setbacks in my career and I’ll be attacking this one head on. I’ll be back.
"Thank you to everyone for all the messages of support over the past few days, I appreciate every single one of them.
"The road to recovery starts now."
The Bradford-born second row played for Bulls between 2018 and 2019, scoring 45 tries in 59 appearances.
