A KEIGHLEY snooker player is one of only two women selected to have a shot at qualifying for this year's Betfred World Championships.

World number four Rebecca Kenna joins 12-time champion Reanne Evans in the qualifiers set to take place between April 5 and 14 at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

Never has a female potter appeared at the Crucible with Evans' second round qualifying feat in 2017 the furthest stage reached.

Kenna also has experience on the professional scene after narrowly losing on TV in the one-frame Betvictor Shoot Out ranking tournament to Germany's Simon Lichtenberg last month.

The pair are part of 16 amateurs competing against the 112 main tour players outside of the top 16, following the Cazoo Tour Championship, in the rankings.

The first three rounds will be played over the best-of-11 frames before a 19-frame encounter on 'Judgement Day' will finalise who takes the remaining spots at the Worlds.
