CONNOR Wood vowed that City will continue to give everything for their two bosses, insisting: “They are great to play for.”

Danny Rowe’s last-gasp leveller against Bolton extended the unbeaten run to six games.

They face sixth-placed Newport tomorrow looking to make further inroads on the play-off places.

Wood, who made his 100th Bantams appearance in Saturday’s draw, has praised Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars for restoring belief in the players.

He said: “They have come in really positive and instilled a load of confidence in the lads.

“They don’t take any short cuts. They give you all the resources you need so there are no excuses not to go out there and put in a good performance.

“The stuff they give us in training and the analysis is brilliant and the job they are doing here is a massive credit to them.

“They’ve put their own style into us and you can see with the way the lads are playing at the moment, we’re putting in 110 per cent effort for them.”

City’s five-game winning run may have come to an end with but Wood felt the way they reacted to falling behind late on showed their determination to reward the management duo by keep pushing up the League Two table.

“It could be a massive point at the end of the season,” added the left back. “It was key we didn’t lose that game and important to keep the good run going.

“The goal we conceded was unfortunate but I felt we took the game to them after that. We kept our heads up and didn’t panic.

“We were really chasing the goal, gambling on second balls and throwing bodies into the box.

“It just shows the resilience of the lads and the mentality we’ve got.

“That comes from the good run of form and the momentum we’re building. Confidence comes with it.

“We’ve got to stay positive and focused and go into games with a real positive attitude.”

Wood has played every minute of City’s league campaign and was relieved when Rowe provided the happy ending to his milestone game.

He said: “A loss would have tarnished it, so it was a really good feeling when Rowey hit the back of the net.

“You could see all the boys were elated with the celebrations and it was great for me to take home a point on my 100th appearance.

“When I signed, I would have hoped to hit a landmark like that. But with the way the first season went here, I couldn’t really see it.

“There are 15 games left for us and it’s a big run-in. We’ve just got to continue this form and stay focused.”

Trueman believes City are restoring their reputations with the way they are battling for results.

He said: "There were a lot of questions thrown at this group of players at the start of the season.

"They are answering them now in the way they are reacting.

“Whether we are trying to keep the door shut or we are chasing the game, we have the mindset to keep going to the end.

"We want to try and get as many points as we can.”

Trueman is happy that tomorrow’s trip to Newport has been switched to the Cardiff City stadium after concerns about the state of Rodney Parade.

“It’s difficult with the weather we’ve had lately. All pitches have taken a hit.

“But we’re delighted to get to that type of ground. Hopefully, it will allow us to play a bit more than we could on Newport’s pitch which is a little bit cut-up at this time.”
