RUGBY league needs referees for the new community season, and a call has gone out to anyone from Bradford who is interested.

The Bradford Rugby League Referees Society, in partnership with its Huddersfield equivalent, is hosting a Microsoft Teams course tomorrow for any applicants.

Grassroots sport has long struggled to maintain match officials, and the coronavirus pandemic has only exacerbated this.

Earlier this week, the Craven Cricket League admitted there was an umpiring crisis, and with their season, and the community rugby league one, potentially getting underway next month, officials need to be in place fast.

You will need to complete an Online Laws of the Game module before the Microsoft Teams offering tomorrow if you are to be considered as a rugby league referee for the upcoming season.

Tomorrow's course costs £10 and will take place between 12pm and 4pm. You can sign up here.
