CITY will play Newport next Tuesday – at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The move comes after the Exiles received dispensation from the EFL to stage home games at an alternative venue.

Michael Flynn’s side made the request to give the Rodney Parade pitch some breathing spaces before the run-in to the season.

An EFL statement said today’s decision had been made because Newport’s home pitch had been “severely impacted after the recent inclement weather”.

The game at Cardiff will still kick off at 7pm.
