CHRIS Melling faces a titanic battle in the Vinny Champions League Pool quarter-finals in a couple of weeks' time.

The Keighley potter will be going up against six-time World Champion Mick Hill, after Hill won a tough Group H on Monday night.

Melling, who is a two-time World Champion himself, came out on top in Group G earlier this month, winning his final game 4-0 against Scottish teenager Geo Edgar to secure progression into the last eight.

The Keighley man is delighted to be going up against Hill, tweeting: "Looking forward to it. Great player, great friend and a great opponent."

Hill and Melling are joined in the last eight by Josh Kane, Aaron Davies, Phil Harrison, Neil Raybone, Shaun Storry and David McNamara.

The Champions League is being held in Newcastle-under-Lyme, with the winner in line for a £10,000 prize.

Not long after the tournament ends on March 8, Melling will be taking part in Predator Championship League Pool, a Matchroom tournament.

That will be held over a week-long period, and gets underway on March 22 in Milton Keynes.
