LIVERSEDGE moved up to third in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division after they beat Albion Sports 2-0 at Clayborn yesterday afternoon.

The hosts dominated, and it was only a superb display in goal from Albion’s new signing George Clarke that kept the scores level at the break.

But Sedge made their move just after half-time. First, Oliver Fearon crashed home a header from a corner on 47 minutes, before a brilliantly-worked team move was finished off by Nicky Boshell moments later.

Albion remain 10th after the defeat.

Finally, Steeton enjoyed a superb 3-0 home win in their first competitive game at Marley Stadium.

Ben Wignall put the Chevrons in front after 30 minutes of this North West Counties League First Division North clash, before late goals from Toby Jeffrey and Jake Townsend sealed the victory.
