DUANNE Olivier has ended the year in ideal style with a T20 title in Sri Lanka.
Olivier’s Jaffna Stallions side won the inaugural Lanka Premier League title on Wednesday, comfortably beating Galle Gladiators in the final at Hambantota.
Yorkshire’s South African overseas fast bowler claimed 10 wickets in nine appearances, including a best of 4-44 in the opening game of the tournament.
Olivier also claimed 1-25 from two overs in the final, as Jaffna defended a target of 189, restricting Galle to 135-9 and winning by 53 runs.
The 28-year-old will now return to South Africa for Christmas.
The plan there is to ramp up his preparations for the new English summer by potentially training with and playing for a South African domestic side over the next few months.
