GUISELEY finally got back to winning ways, recording their first three points in seven since their opening day hammering of Blyth Spartans by beating Spennymoor Town.

Andy Kellett grabbed his first in a Lions shirt before Gabriel Johnson secured the victory late on.

Before kickoff, the Nethermoor-based side announced the return of 2019-20 star Andrai Jones from Hereford. The midfielder played 20 times in the white and blue last term.

Both teams shared the opening few chances. Kellet curled wide and Glen Taylor's free kick found Brad Wade's gloves easily.

On the 25th minute mark, the former jumped on the scoresheet from a tight angle. Adam Haw teed up the ex-Manchester United loanee who slotted past Dale Eve calmly.

Scott McLean presented the danger for the hosts down the left, whipping in several crosses which were well defended.

Former Lion Jamie Spencer found Jason Kennedy in the box but the midfielder placed his free header wide.

Prince Ekpolo, who was sent off last time out at AFC Telford United, saw his effort saved by Eve. Substitute Lewis Hey blazed the rebound over.

New right back John Lufudu's cross was then palmed clear by the defiant Eve, keen to keep his side in it.

Ryan Hall's corner should have been bundled home from Nathan Buddle's nod which flew over.

Unfortunately, Hey was forced off injured. Although this did lead to the introduction of Johnson.

The usually lethal Taylor fired wayward from a pacey counter before Wade came to the rescue in the 90th minute.

The keeper flicked McLean's powerful strike onto the bar and threw his body in the way to deny the rebound.

A classy away win was finalised when a mix-up at the back allowed Johnson to finish inside the area.
