LIVERSEDGE manager Jonathan Rimmington has paid an emotional tribute to his former number two, coach and close friend Simon Emery, who sadly passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The club announced the news on their Twitter page just before 6pm yesterday evening and that was shortly followed by a heartfelt message from Rimmington.

He said: "I really don’t know what to say, Si had been with me from the start.

"What a man. Gutted. Family, friends, we are here for Jeanette, Jordan and Tyler. RIP my mate."

Rimmington also shared a picture of the pair of them when they coached at Rothwell Juniors back in the 2013-14 season, just before they joined Liversedge together.

In their own tribute, Sedge posted: "Simon has devoted huge amounts of time, and his love for football and coaching, to the club and will be greatly missed.

"Our condolences and thoughts go out to Jeanette, Jordan, Tyler and the whole family at this sad time."
