CITY will be able to make five substitutions against Salford on Saturday.
The EFL have decided to up the maximum number of changes that can be made during games from three after discussions with the clubs.
The new ruling will come into effect from midday on Friday.
Championship clubs can name up to nine players on the bench but the limit will remain at seven in Leagues One and Two.
