WEST Bowling ARLFC have secured a real coup this week, after confirming that former juniors, and ex-Bulls stars, Ethan Ryan and Elliot Minchella, will be coming on board with the club’s open age coaching set-up for the 2021 season.

Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus a few weeks ago, Bowling’s head coach, Ryan Hunkin, was effusive in his praise of the junior and girls’ sections at the club, but they pride themselves on offering the best experience possible for everyone.

And those open age players cannot complain about getting to learn from two of West Yorkshire’s best next season.

Ryan shone in the Bulls first team between 2016 and 2019, with the Irish international winger racking up an incredible 89 tries in 98 appearances during his time there.

Minchella joined Bulls in September 2017 from Sheffield Eagles, going on to score an impressive 45 tries in 59 appearances.

At the end of 2018, he signed a new three-year full-time deal with the club, but was only there for one more season, before, like Ryan, he joined Super League side Hull KR.

That was part of a big swoop on the Bulls from the Humberside outfit, who also brought in the likes of Joe Keyes and Matty Storton.

But with Minchella from Bradford itself, and Ryan hailing from nearby Halifax, they are returning to West Yorkshire to make a difference to one of its proudest community rugby league clubs.
