I MAY have named Connor Wood as my man of the match in City's sensational 7-0 win over Tonbridge Angels in the FA Cup First Round on Saturday, but it was a close run thing between him and Billy Clarke.
And it is Clarke who has been recognised by the FA Cup's Twitter account as producing a standout performance at the weekend.
He is one of the nominees for the player of the round, having netted twice in the first half against the Angels, one a sumptuous free-kick and the other a thumping header.
Clarke is up against Crawley's Tom Nichols, who bagged a hat-trick in his side's mind-boggling 6-5 win at Torquay, Oxford City defender Aaron Drewe, who played a starring role in his the non-league outfit's shock 2-1 win over Northampton on Monday, and Stockport's John Rooney (brother of Wayne) who netted from inside his own half to help his side to a fine 2-1 win at Rochdale.
