SILSDEN have secured the impressive signing of striker Mark Simpson from Northern Counties East League Premier Division rivals Liversedge.

Simpson is best known for his time at Garforth Town and is the club's all-time record goalscorer.

After signing for the Cobbydalers, he said: “I’m really excited to join Silsden.

“After speaking to the manager, it was clear this was the best place for me to get back to my best and get regular playing time. He knows how I play and told me exactly how I’d fit into his system.

“I’ve spoken to a couple of friends about the club and they’ve only had good things to say, so I’m looking forward to getting started.

“There is real quality in the team, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be pushing into the top eight.

“Personally I’ve hit the 30 goal mark twice before in this league so I’d like to get as close to that as possible.”

Silsden boss Danny Forrest was equally thrilled with the signing, and said: “I’m obviously delighted that Mark has chosen to join the club. He’s a proven player at this level and I’m proud we’ve been able to attract someone of his calibre.

“There’ll be a settling in period but I’m sure he’ll hit the ground running.

“Once he becomes more and more familiar with the environment and his teammates, we’ll see his confidence grow and I’m sure we can help to get the best from him.”

It is an important signing for Silsden, with talented striker Antony Brown having left the club earlier this month to sign for Northern Premier League Division One North West side Mossley.

Brown, who scored three times in the cup and twice in the league for Silsden this season, used to play for Eccleshill United.

Off the pitch, Silsden are on the lookout for a talented photographer to join their media team.

The role will see the snapper attend home and away matches throughout the season, while there may also be some club/community events that need to be covered during the course of the campaign.

Silsden say they will be flexible and adaptable to help accommodate the successful applicant.

Roles would include, but not be limited to:

- Match Day Photos

- Staff/Player Photos

- Stadium Shots

- Club/Community Events

The photos would be used across the club's social media platforms, match day programmes, website, etc.
