The first of this year's winter river matches kicks off on Sunday using the bottom length.

This length has been producing some good nets of fish recently. For anyone wanting to book on, give Carl Chadwick a call on 07955 727079.

The canal is fishing very well at the moment for those who are targeting the pike.

Committee member Anthony Senior had a good session, netting six, with the biggest weighing in at 12lb 1oz.

There will be a pike match on Sunday, November 8 using the boats section in Shipley.

The draw will be at 9am on the bank side. Anyone wanting to book on should give Lee Weston a call on 07496 445303.

BINGLEY ANGLING CLUB

Last Sunday's match on the River Aire in Myrtle Park saw J. Clark win with 5lb 14oz.

C. Dine came second with 4lb 7oz, while I. Needs finished third with 4lb 5oz.

LISTERHILLS A.A.

The match on the River Ouse was won by E. Harrison with a weight of 4lb 11oz. J. Myers ended up second with 3lb 6.5oz, while G. Gawthorpe came third with 2lb 11oz.

The next match will be on the River Derwent.

LEEDS & DISTRICT A.S.A.

Last week's winter league match was won by D. Taylor with 31lb 8oz. T. Rymer came second with 15lb 4oz and K. Hartley finished third with 13lb 14oz.

Barbel are still being caught in the Nidd mouth area.

The club has obtained a new length of river upstream of Aldwalk Bridge, on the opposite bank to the length it already holds.
