SAM Bradley made headlines this summer when he swapped Dubai for a return to his former club Eccleshill United.

But just a handful of competitive games into the season and the central defender is on the move again, but this time he has just made a short hop across West Yorkshire.

He has rejoined another former club in Albion Sports.

And he was thrown straight into action last night, as Albion took on Goole AFC at home.

Sadly for Bradley and his new side, they suffered their first Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division defeat of the season, taking a second half lead but going on to lose 2-1.

The visitors were the better team before the break, and Albion were indebted to young goalkeeper Declan Lambton, who is at Throstle Nest on a youth loan from Guiseley, for some stunning saves to keep them level.

And Lambton's excellent goalkeeping meant Albion were able to go in front 10 minutes after the interval.

Danny Facey, who netted a hat-trick in Albion's 6-2 win over Bottesford Town over the weekend, produced some great individual skill, before laying the ball on a plate for Charlie Flaherty, who buried his strike to make it 1-0 to the hosts.

But a stunning goal from winger Anees Younis drew Goole level 10 minutes later.

It got worse for Albion too. With 15 minutes left, they conceded a penalty, and the prolific Reagan Waud, who netted twice in Goole's weekend defeat to Garforth Town, tucked his spot kick away to seal victory.

The defeat leaves Albion in ninth, with four points from three games, and they are not in action this weekend either. Their next game is at home to Yorkshire Amateur next Wednesday.

Plenty of other Bradford District teams will be playing on Saturday though. Eccleshill and Liversedge go head to head in a derby, while Albion’s conquerors Goole will be away at Silsden.

Thackley will be playing at home to Maltby Main, with both sides looking for their first league win of the season.

Down in the NCEL Division One, early leaders Campion host Rossington Main.

Steeton play their opening North West Counties Football League First Division North game at phoenix club Bury AFC.

Brighouse Town are not in action until Monday, when they will host Runcorn Linnets in a Northern Premier League North West Division match.
