CITY are hoping to have a new signing in the squad against Stevenage on Saturday.

Stuart McCall this afternoon revealed that he was looking to seal a deal for a player tomorrow in time to be included for this weekend’s game.

The Bantams could also have Reece Staunton available after he was able to return to training this morning.

A scan on the young defender’s left ankle showed a flare-up of the joint but no crack following his injury at Forest Green.

McCall said: “It’s very positive news. Last Saturday we were fearing the worst.

“He has done a bit of training which has been promising. We’ll see how he reacts tomorrow and make a decision on him for the weekend.

“But it’s far more encouraging news than we expected. He could be available – although I’m not saying he will.”

McCall would not give anything away about the player he is looking to bring in, other than they can play in several positions.

The City boss is also waiting for answers on another couple of loan targets.
