Bradford's Jason Barnett has declared himself well pleased with his fourth place in the International Natural Body-building Federation (INBF) World Championships in New York.

"The Oceanic countries don't usually bother with this event but they brought very, very strong teams this time," said Barnett.

"Clement Yearwood (United States) won the bantamweight class and was second overall, while Urms Zeinstein (Switzerland) was second and David Barry (Australia) third, alth-ough some judges had me in third position."

Barnett, now recovered from a stomach ulcer, added: "It was great to be able to train free from any stomach ulcer pain and I have been told that, at 35, I might be coming into my prime as that is supposed to be between the ages of 35 and 40."

An assistant at Haycliffe Special School, Barnett may have to cut back on his day job.

He explained: "My seminars for the needy, such as visits to YMCAs and Wetherby Prison, have proved so successful that it is an area of my life that might expand.
