BRADFORD (Park Avenue) will travel to Spennymoor Town for their last friendly before the new season commences.

Mark Bower's side have had a Jekyll and Hyde pre-season thus far, capturing wins at Silsden and Thackley, but falling to defeats against Ossett United and Liversedge.

Their match at Grantham on Saturday was postponed due to one of Park Avenue's players having Covid-19 symptoms which forced the whole squad and management team to go into isolation.

It is thought that tomorrow's behind closed doors friendly against Yorkshire Amateur at Horsfall will still be able to go ahead though.

Spennymoor, who are currently third favourites to take home the 2020/21 Vanarama National League North title, will present Bradford with a much tougher test on September 26 (3pm).

It also sets up the fascinating prospect of two players facing their former clubs. Avenue's Jake Hibbs spent two years at the North East club before coming down to West Yorkshire on-loan last January.

While, Jamie Spencer was part of the Bradford squad which finished in the playoffs twice a couple of years ago. An impressive spell at Guiseley put the Moors on red alert and they snapped the midfielder up this summer.

It is still unknown whether fans will be able to attend the game at Brewery Field, but a live stream will be made available in any eventuality.
