TOM Kohler-Cadmore praised those around him after Yorkshire secured a second Vitality Blast win in five games against Durham this evening.

Kohler-Cadmore’s unbeaten 85 underpinned his side’s 199-3 at Emirates Riverside before the Vikings defended it to win by 29 runs, bowling the hosts out for 169.

They now have six points at the halfway stage of the North Group and sit third and two points behind joint leaders Nottinghamshire and Lancashire.

Will Fraine (36 not out off 15 balls), Adam Lyth, Joe Root and Harry Brook - all three posted scores in the twenties - contributed with the bat before spinners Josh Poysden (3-32) and Root shared five wickets to drag back a Durham start of 77-0.

New captain David Willey also helped mop up the Durham tail with three wickets.

“The boys were outstanding tonight, and I was just out there trying to whack it but couldn’t really get going,” said Kohler-Cadmore.

“Frainey and Brooky, especially, played beautifully around me and got us up to a really competitive score.

“Then, with the ball, they got off to a really good start. But through the middle the spinners, Rooty and Poysie were outstanding.

“To top it off at the end, the lads at the death bowled beautifully as well.

“Dave put a bit of icing on the cake with those three wickets.

“He led us from the front tonight and has been really good throughout the whole competition even though he’s been away with England. We’ve had some great communication with him, but it’s great to have him back.”

Kohler-Cadmore continued: “It’s always nice to score runs in a winning cause. I would have liked to be a bit more fluent and had quite a bit of luck.

“I’ll never complain about scoring runs, but I felt the other guys were outstanding around me.

“Frainey and Brooky, they are just showing how much depth we’ve got.”

Yorkshire's next Blast game is also against Leicester at Grace Road next Friday.

“The weather’s hit us a bit in this competition, we have to play Lancs twice, and that’s going to be crucial,"added Kohler-Cadmore.

“Hopefully we can have a really good end to the competition.”
