City today delivered an early Christmas present to fans by announcing a price freeze on season-tickets for NEXT term.

For the next month, supporters can buy a new season-ticket at the current rock- bottom figure of only £138.

"It's our way of saying thank you to the fans for their loyalty," announced joint-chairman Mark Lawn.

"Julian Rhodes and myself have been amazed by the fantastic level of support the team are getting this season.

"It's great to see people turning up in such numbers every game and bringing back the atmosphere to the club.

"We wanted to reward that backing. So from December 1 to 31, we are giving people the chance to purchase a new season-ticket early at the same low price as now.

"Let's face it, £138 doesn't buy a lot when you are searching for that special Christmas present.

"It's exactly the same generous deal as before so youngsters aged 11 to 15 will pay £69 again and the under-11s get in free, up to a maximum of two per adult season-ticket holder."

Fans who snap up the December-only offer will be given a voucher at Valley Parade which will be swapped for a season-ticket when they are officially launched in the summer.

Rhodes set a 10,000 target when he unveiled the current season-ticket deal in March and was staggered to see the final figure break the 12,000 barrier - a total swelled dramatically when Stuart McCall came back as boss.

City's average attendance figure of 13,670 is the best in League Two by far. Leaders MK Dons are more than 5,000 behind in second.

Only Leeds and Nottingham Forest attract more fans to League One games and the Valley Parade crowds beat nine clubs in the Champion-ship.

Lawn is urging City supporters to turn out in force for Saturday's FA Cup second-round clash with Tranmere.

The League One opponents have laid on free coaches for their supporters and are expecting up to 1,500 fans to make the journey from the Wirral - the biggest away following seen at Valley Parade since Easter Monday, when Oldham brought 2,205.

Lawn said: "I'm sure they are going to be very vocal and we don't want our supporters to be out-shouted. So we hope that as many fans as possible can make it to the game to cheer the lads on.

"If they want us to go through and maybe pull a big club in round three, then I'd encourage people to come down in numbers and do their bit."

Admission on Saturday is £15 for adults, £10 senior citizens and £5 under-16s. Non-members can use the Bantams Bar and Hendrie Suite facilities for an extra £5 charge.

Tickets for unreserved seating can be bought in advance, although supporters can pay on the day at the turnstiles.
