BRADFORD (Park Avenue) are still going to be playing their first friendly of the season on Saturday, it just happens to be against a different team than planned.

In a statement on the club's website, they said: "Due to injuries at Huddersfield Town, they have regrettably asked us if they can postpone the fixture with them (Town's under-19s) this Saturday, with a view to re-arranging the game as soon as feasible for both sides.

"However we are delighted to announce that Silsden have generously stepped in at the 11th hour to give us our first taste of football for the 2020/21 season.

"Mark Bower’s squad will travel to Silsden on Saturday, August 22 for an 11:00 am kick off.

"We have also a game the following Tuesday, the 25th, away at Campion, kick off time to be confirmed."

Following yesterday's announcement about fans being able to return to Steps Three to Six clubs from Saturday, there is likely to be some spectators in attendance at both of those friendlies.

But that is only because the games are being hosted by Silsden and Campion, not Avenue. For now, any games played at Horsfall would still have to be behind closed doors.
