The annual East Liverpool Canal Open Championship was won by B.Mason (2lbs 10oz). He was followed by R.Moverley (1lbs 15 1/2oz), K.Mason, D.Moffet, R.Thorne and E.Harrison.

Only six ounces separated second to sixth. The next pen will be on the museum length of the canal on August 22.


This weekend's match is on the River Aire on the lower reaches and is for the Melbourne Cup.

Anglers fishing at Kippax Park have enjoyed good sport. Anglers fishing on the rivers have tended to produce better catches in the evening.


The draw for this Sunday's match at Sunnydale will be at 8am and fishing will commence from 9am until 3pm.

Coppice Pond at St Ives has been producing some good nets of Roach, Perch and Rudd. Early morning and late evenings have proven to be the best time to fish.

A consultant for Korum fishing tackle will be using WrayWood for a short film on August 27. The consultant is a club member and this should not affect any other members fishing.
