CITY are expected to find out their League Two schedule for the new season next week.

The appeal over Macclesfield will be heard by an independent panel tomorrow before it is decided whether they or Stevenage are relegated to the National League - and who will complete the fourth tier for 2020/2021.

The fixtures are likely to be released at the end of next week - just three weeks ahead of the opening kick-off on September 12.

But the Bantams are set to be in competitive action before then in the Carabao Cup.

While it is yet to be finalised, the first round is due to get underway the previous week.

Anyone who believes in omens will recall the last time City's season began with a cup tie before the opening league game in 2012.

James Hanson bagged a superb extra-time winner at Notts County to start a campaign that would make history as well as earning promotion.

Phil Parkinson's side went on to reach Wembley in both competitions after becoming the first team from the fourth-tier to reach a major cup final at the national stadium.
