THE FA have decided to half the prize funds for next season's Emirates FA Cup and revert back to their 2017/18 levels, due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The competition will start on Tuesday 1 September with the early draws for the extra preliminary and preliminary rounds to be released on Tuesday 18 August. There will also be no replays during qualifying this term.
737 clubs will enter the tournament with the likes of non league sides Albion Sports, Barnoldswick, Campion Eccleshill United, Liversedge, Silsden and Thackley all starting at the primary stage.
Another national competition those group of teams, plus Steeton, will be involved in is the FA Vase, which commences on Tuesday 19 September with a prize fund in excess of £45,000 for the winner.
