THE opening day of Yorkshire’s two-day friendly against Durham at Emerald Headingley was abandoned without a ball bowled.
Overnight and morning rain meant no play was possible, and a decision was made shortly after the scheduled start time of 11am.
Both sides will try again tomorrow, when it is likely they will each bat and bowl for half a day apiece.
This is Yorkshire’s second two-day friendly but Durham’s first, as the pair build up to Saturday’s Bob Willis Trophy opener at Emirates Riverside.
