BRIGHOUSE have secured the impressive signing of young defender T'Nique Fishley from Scarborough Athletic.

Speaking to Brighouse Town TV after the signing was confirmed, Fishley said: "I'm delighted to join. It's a good, well-run, non-league club and I can't wait to get going.

"My biggest qualities are probably my pace, strength and I have a good work rate.

"The quality down at training has been better than what I thought, so I'm quite impressed so far."

Asked what manager Vill Powell had said ahead of signing him, Fishley said: "Basically, Vill was just being honest. He wants to go for the league and obviously he thinks I can be part of it.

"He was looking forward to working with me and he just seems like he can get the best out of me.

"For me, the target is definitely to get promotion and to get into the team and then stay in it."

He has been joined by goalkeeper George Clarke, who has signed for the club from Emley.

Clarke has been involved at Town before, as part of their academy. He has also previously had a spell at Albion Sports.

He expressed his delight at returning to Brighouse via his Twitter page.

He said: "Delighted to join @brighousetownfc. Would like to thank all the staff and fans @Emley_AFC.

"The support they have given has really developed me as a player and I only wish them all the best in the future."

It has been a busy week on the transfer front for the women's team too, as we reported earlier in the week.

Amy Woodruff has joined after leaving Barnsley, Ellie White has made the short hop over from Huddersfield Town, while Ellie Dobson has come in from Middlesbrough.

But club legend Charlotte Proud has departed due to having to relocate. She netted 77 times in 110 games for Brighouse.
