THE FA Council has finally ratified the National League’s resolution to decide the season by points per game, just rubber-stamping once and for all Bradford (Park Avenue)'s safety.
The decision was always deemed a formality, and there was never any real danger of Avenue, who finished bottom of the 2019/20 Vanarama National League North, being relegated once National League clubs had decided to end their season via PPG in mid-June.
Part of the terms of that agreement was that there would be no relegation from either the National League North or South.
It has come as a surprise that the FA Council took so long to confirm that they had accepted last month's National League's decision, especially given the play-offs at that level begin tomorrow.
But that decision has been made now, and any doubt whatsoever has been removed.
In Avenue's division, York City, Boston United, Brackley Town, Altrincham, Chester and Gateshead will all be competing in the play-offs, with the winner set to earn themselves a spot in next season's National League.
