HE may not be a new signing, but Liversedge fans will be delighted to have secured the popular and prolific striker Joe Walton for another season.
Walton joins captain Tom Jackson in recently signing a new deal and with the likes of Oliver Fearon, Paul Walker and Alfie Raw also committing to the club for 2020/21, Sedge will really fancy their chances of promotion from the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
Walton has already scored 115 goals in his time at Sedge so far, and speaking about staying on and looking to add to his tally, he laughed: "By the time I am finished, there will be a bronze statue in Cleckheaton town centre of me."
Meanwhile, delighted manager Jonathan Rimmington said: "I am over the moon to get the big dog signed on and he is the final piece of the jigsaw.
"He is such a massive part of our club and I am sure he will be manager one day.
"Joking aside, there maybe a couple more (still to commit to the club for next season), but we needed big Joe onboard as he can be unplayable at times. He is a great lad and footballer."
