IN the latest edition of our look back through the T&A archives, here are five rugby pictures from years gone by.

Our first picture is from November 1986, of West Bowling ARLC. They were desperate for new kit, so rugby fan, Inspector Bill Spence of Bradford Police, started looking for sponsors.

PICTURE ONE: West Bowling ARLC 1986 - Story: Between them, I T Clough solicitors, Allied Dunbar Life Assurance PLC and In and Out Contract Cleaners and Industrial Decorators came up with around £2,000 for strips for the club’s three teams.

PICTURE TWO: West Yorkshire Fire Brigade ARLC 1982 - Story: The West Yorkshire Fire Brigade Amateur Rugby League side, who played a French team from Toulouse. The team were guests of Clayton ARLC.

PICTURE THREE: Woolpack 1986 - Back (left to right): Saunders, Travers, Francis, Roe, Swaine, Walker, Metcalfe, Fallon. Front: O’Toole, Frost, Francis, Morgan, Krelle, Raynor, Malcolm.

PICTURE FOUR: Yorkshire U19 1958 - Story: The Yorkshire Under-19s rugby league team which beat Cumberland 26-0 at Belle Vue, Wakefield in March 1958.
