Farsley Celtic earned a vital home draw in midweek to steer clear of the Blue Square Premier relegation zone and will be looking for a rare away win on Saturday to break through the 20-point barrier.

The Celts are in their first season at the highest level of the non-league pyramid and have recently had manager Lee Sinnott, as well as club captain and fitness coach Carl Serrant, poached by Football League clubs.

Caretaker boss John Deacey, who was Sinnott's assistant and wants to become his successor, has had the backing of the players and will introduce a new signing at Crawley Town.

"Steve Torpey will play, as long as he has had no reactions to yesterday's training session," said Deacey.

Former Bradford City and Scunthorpe United striker Torpey was signed on loan from Lincoln City but a thigh injury ruled him out of last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Grays Athletic and the midweek draw against Altrincham.

Deacey said: "It is a very slight strain. He could have played on Tuesday but we decided to make sure he is 100 per cent because there is no panic to get him in. James Knowles should be fit but Simeon Bambrook is a doubt.

"The players have been a credit to the club and to me since Lee left and I'm sure we will stay in this division this season. The effort has been 100 per cent and I have been very pleased.

"To think we battled for a draw with ten men for almost an hour to get the point that keeps us above Altrincham says it all for me. Damien Reeves was very unlucky to be sent off and we think the video of the game will clear his name over his second yellow card."
