THACKLEY AFC Ladies are on the lookout for new players, and with pre-season training potentially on the horizon, football could be returning sooner rather than later.

They are encouraging people of all talents and experience to get involved, provided they are aged 16 or over.

The chance to play at the club's Dennyfield ground may also provide an attractive proposition.

In a statement, Thackley Ladies said: "The 2020/21 season at Thackley AFC promises to be a fantastic one.

"Why not come join our outstanding group of players already within the first team squad? We are looking for more hungry, talented and committed players to join us!"

The statement added: "Just starting out or returning to football? Don't worry, at Thackley, we have something for everyone!

"With our reserve squad established, we are looking for returners, joiners or just starters.

"With our experienced coaching team, there's opportunities for everyone to come along, enjoy the game and develop in a welcoming atmosphere."

Meanwhile, Silsden Ladies have provisionally arranged friendlies with the likes of Bradford City Women Reserves, Bradford (Park Avenue) Ladies and Ossett United Ladies Reserves over the summer.

Their programme is due to start on July 16, against Ossett, but the club are well aware that any dates could be pushed back or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
