GUISELEY are anticipating a cash deficit of around £65,000 due to losses incurred as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and are asking if people could please donate to support the future of the club.

Earlier this week, the Premier League and English Football League suspended all its fixtures until April 30.

While the National League is currently set to resume on April 4, with the peak of infections expected to be several weeks away, it seems unlikely that matches at this level will commence on that date.

In a statement, Guiseley said: "As you will be aware, the club’s income is heavily dependent upon home games, 3G hire and other sources of finance.

"While we run quite a tight ship financially, the ceasing, and possible abandonment, of the season is and will continue to hit us hard financially, in the region of £65,000.

"We hope that the English football family will help and support non-league clubs to remain in business, but in the immediate short term, our cashflow has dried up.

"Therefore, we will be launching some initiatives to help us through this difficult time.

"We would appreciate your support, whether it be in the form of backing these initiatives or simply spreading the word among friends and colleagues.

"If you can make a donation to support the future of Guiseley AFC please use this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/guiseley-afc-donations-tickets-100522455370.

"Just click the green ‘tickets’ button and you can choose the amount you wish to donate from there."

In the statement, Guiseley also said their directors and staff are hoping that all supporters and volunteers are keeping safe and well during these challenging times.
