ROWAN Milnes expects John Kear to have a Challenge Cup trick up his sleeve for Wakefield tomorrow night.
The Bulls have the underdog mantle for the fifth-round trip to the side currently ninth in Super League.
But having masterminded their charge to the quarter-finals last year, Milnes is not underestimating Kear’s leadership powers.
Playmaker Milnes said: “It’s the Challenge Cup and John Kear and I’m sure he will bring something.
“There’s no pressure and there’s a lot of confidence in the dressing room so we’re raring to go.
“We’ve got a free crack. We’re not favourites with the bookies but we’ll go there and have a free shot.
“You never know we could come away with something. There’s a lot of belief in that squad.”
Milnes was outstanding in the 28-0 win over Sheffield and his partnership with Jordan Lilley will be key if they are to spring an upset at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.
He added: “We’ve still only played about 16 games together so it’s still pretty new. But the understanding is getting better each week.
“But these are exciting times for us and as a team. You can see the progression to where we are now.”
