ILKLEY Town booked their place in the quarter finals of the West Yorkshire League Cup after showing great determination to complete a stunning 5-1 comeback over Carlton Athletic.
Carlton took the lead 15 minutes in when Charlie Thompson cut inside and floated the ball into the roof of the net, beyond the outstretched hand of Adam Montague Millar.
It took Town until after the break to draw level after Tom Smith found Harry Brown who sent the keeper the wrong way with his close-range shot.
Simon Armstrong’s men went ahead shortly afterwards through centre-half Adam Davey's powerful header.
The visitors were down to 10 when Charlie Nixon was brought down in the box by Andy Payne to hand the skipper his second yellow card. Smith despatched the spot kick with ease to provide breathing space.
Ilkley added a further two goals late on thanks to strikes from Nixon and Richard Bull.
