Greetings Bulls Nation. I want to start off by congratulating John and the lads on last week's victory over a spirited Underbank Rangers.

The conditions weren’t great and as we all know conditions, especially a muddy, rain-soaked pitch, can be the great leveller. Superior skills go out the window in times like those and it can become a good old fashion slog.

The lads held their nerve and took the tie, and best of all, held a clean sheet throughout. They may have been two divisions below us but winning is contagious and something tells me we are about to go on a streak of our own.

Our next match in the cup will be a fifth round away trip to the Mobile Rocket Stadium to take on Super League side Wakefield Trinity.

It’ll be our first chance to test ourselves against Super League opposition - and against coach Kear’s old club. It’ll take a big effort to move on but the lads will be up for it. Secure your tickets and support the team on the evening of March 13, and let’s pull off our first massive cup upset of the new decade.

This week's opponents are Championship new boys Oldham. Just an hour or so away, and across the border into red rose territory, our biggest game of the year is upon us. To say this is a 'must-win' would be calling it like it is. It is a massive turning point for us. It won’t make or break the season, but matches against newly-promoted sides are pivotal and to say we need the points is an understatement.

The Bulls have been unlucky not to take points from our first two encounters this season and anyone who caught Oldham’s hard-fought away victory against Whitehaven on the Our League app know this one won’t be easy.

A major factor could be the high winds and difficult conditions. And remember conditions are the great equaliser.

A strong Bulls army travelling contingent might be what we need to put us on top.

Don’t forget to pick up your tickets for our next home match against Sheffield Eagles. Momentum is building and we need your support at the Tetley’s as we begin our climb up the league ladder.

For those who make it to Oldham, enjoy the clash. Come on you Bulls!
