NEAL MAUPAY and his team-mates want to make Albion fans proud when they take on rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex.

In the December reverse fixture Albion put in one of their most impressive away displays this season but could only claim a 1-1 draw thanks to an equaliser from Wilfried Zaha.

Maupay put Albion ahead at Selhurst Park in front of the travelling Albion fans but this Saturday the French striker hopes he can get the home supporters roaring.

He said: “It was an amazing atmosphere and the away end was packed.

“Our fans turned up in their numbers to support us and sung the whole way through, which was a really good feeling.

“I scored in front of them. I know it is a big game for the fans and for us as well because we want to make them proud and happy.

“It is going to be really interesting to play my first derby at home.”

Albion head into the game after picking up a good point away at Sheffield United last weekend.

Now Maupay wants what would be a significant victory over fellow strugglers Palace.

He said: “A win would be massive for us.

“We will reflect on the game against Sheffield United, see what we did well and what we didn’t do so well, and look at where we can improve.

“We will work hard this week and, hopefully, be ready on Saturday to get a win, which would be nice.”
