DYLAN Mottley-Henry has caught Stuart McCall’s eye thanks to some inside info from the manager’s son.

The winger has made a promising start since his return to Valley Parade just before the transfer deadline.

Mottley-Henry, who signed a short-term deal from Barnsley until the end of the season, has featured in all three games under McCall.

But the City legend needed a family tip-off to remind him what the 22-year-old’s game was all about.

McCall said: “I didn’t know that much about Dylan, if I’m honest. He’d gone before I went there.

“But my lad Craig played at Bradford at under-15s in the same team.

“Dylan had asked me about Craig straight away and I didn’t realise the connection.

“Craig can remember him playing a couple of games but was saying how different he is now. He was a skinny flying machine as a kid but he’s bulked up a bit since.

“We’re learning things about Dylan. He had a couple of things on Saturday that were really bright because that’s what pace does for you, it excites you.

“But then we’re looking at the end product and different areas. He’s a player you can work with and wants to make a mark.”

McCall has been impressed by Mottley-Henry’s hunger to learn but insists that is not just a trait he expects from the more youthful members of his squad.

“You usually associate that with young players,” added the Bantams chief. “But I came back to Bradford at 34 and went to Sheffield United at 38.

“I certainly wasn’t young but I was still hungry. I just want hungry players in that dressing room and in the team, regardless of the age.

“As long as they’ve got a desire to learn and leave everything out there.

“Dylan has shown that he’s got that enthusiasm and willingness we’ve been looking for since we’ve been in.”
