The influx of fresh faces at Dennyfield during and since the summer has started to reap rewards and the Thackley coaching staff are hopeful that the stronger squad will bring stability to the club.

Manager John Boyle is excited at the prospect now that the players have settled in. He even made another new signing this week and is hoping he will make his debut in tomorrow's NCE League Cup clash with Glasshoughton Welfare.

Boyle said: "I signed Gareth Naylor from Bridlington Town. He was at Bradford Park Avenue last season and can play up front, in the centre of midfield or as a wide man.

"The other lads who have come in are starting to gel and seem to be enjoying it, all except Luke Caulfield. He broke his nose in the goalless draw at Arnold Town and it had to be reset in the week, so he will be out for a little while.

"Danny Forrest has missed the odd game through work commitments and Ben O'Melia couldn't travel to Arnold because of an illness in the family. All of these players, along with Paul Helliwell, have strengthened us."

Thackley also have Nicky Matthews and Phil Holmes to come back from injury, Adam Davidson is pushing for a first-team place and Dean Mitchell is looking good in training.

Boyle said: "Dean has just moved into the Bradford area from South Africa and he approached the club. We invited him along to training and he certainly looks capable of playing a part at this level.

"Don't forget Danny Backhouse and Neil Murray, who are also very important to the squad. The only thing I want just now is to see us go on a run; put a string of results together and find consistency.

"What we need to help that is a spell where we stay clear of injuries and suspensions and the players find their best form."
