ILKLEY Town Ladies capitalised on Farsley Celtic Juniors reserves being in cup action to join them at the top of the West Riding County Football League First Division after their 2-1 win at Skipton.

Heather Fisher-Pedley and Amy Fidler strikes placed Town on 28 points, level with Farsley who now have a game in hand.

Skipton skipper Alex Heyworth netted the consolation.

In the Second Division, there was a tough game for Thackley Reserves at home to Farsley Juniors' Development side.

Goals from Meg Howell and Sarah Binns were not enough for Thackley who fell to a 3-2 defeat.

The ninth-placed team had a good amount of possession and created chances but struggled to convert them past Farsley keeper Emma Sutherland who was in top form.

In the North East Regional League, Farsley Celtic remain unbeaten in the Premier Division after a 3-1 win at Ossett.
