After just missing out on the October club of the month award, Guiseley will be aiming to maintain their momentum as they head to Buxton on Saturday.

Terry Dolan's men are third in the Unibond Premier Division, while their Derbyshire hosts are mid-table, but the manager is far too astute to take anything for granted.

"It will be a test for us because this is a very tough league this season and Buxton are a very strong side," said Dolan, who had spells in the hot-seat at Valley Parade and with Hull City.

Guiseley will be desperate to keep pace with leaders Witton Albion, the club who pipped them to the monthly accolade, and second-placed Gateshead.

Witton are six points clear but the clubs could not be closer. Each have lost just once this campaign, have drawn three and won all the rest. The difference is that Witton have played twice more than their two closest challengers.

Guiseley have a League Cup third-round tie in midweek and home advantage over struggling Worksop Town the following Saturday, so they will not want to lose any ground tomorrow despite it being a tricky away game.

"Danny Ellis didn't play last week because of a groin injury and neither did Aaron Wilford because he was building himself back up after his bout of tonsillitis," said Dolan.

"We had to take Adam Wilson off in the FA Trophy win at Hednesford Town on Saturday as he is also struggling with a groin injury.

"It is difficult to say who will be ready for Saturday. We will see how Aaron is, Danny should be fit but it's difficult to say and Adam must be rated as the most doubtful. He is struggling more than the others because his is the most recent injury."
