BRADFORD City visit Mansfield Town tomorrow for a game that should result in a routine away victory, given that their opponents have already lost eight times at home in the league this season.

But things are rarely that simple for the Bantams. There can be no disputing that they have had some good results this season, otherwise they wouldn't be in fifth place in League Two.

Yet most of their highlights have come at Valley Parade. They still haven't won on the road since October 12 against Morecambe, and some away day horror shows since have included a draw at crisis club Macclesfield Town and defeat to struggling Crawley Town.

Still, football fans always live in hope and Bantams fans will hope that tomorrow is their team's day. There is certainly huge incentive to picking up the three points, given how tight the league is.

A win could propel City up to third, and the automatic promotion spots, but defeat could see them drop out of the play-offs altogether.

If you are travelling down to Nottinghamshire for this crucial away day, then here is the T&A's comprehensive away day guide.

TRAVEL

The main concern for the big day is how to get there, how long it will take to get there, and where on earth you’re going to park.

Train: After catching a train from Bradford Interchange/Forster Square to Leeds, you'll need to catch another Northern service to Nottingham.

Get off that at Alfreton, then catch the '9.1 the nines' bus to Mansfield. That should take around half an hour. Stay on the bus until it reaches Mansfield bus station, around 15 minutes from the ground itself.

You would be best getting a taxi from there, as the route from the station to the ground has some roads that are unsuitable for pedestrians.

The other option is to get the Northern train from Leeds to Lincoln, getting off at Worksop. Get the EMR service from there to Nottingham getting off at Mansfield train station, which is 10 minutes from the ground. Again get a taxi from there.

Car: After leaving Bradford, take the A638/M62 (E) exit towards M1/Dewsbury/Hull/Leeds. After 10 miles on the M62, you'll need to take the M1 exit towards London/Wakefield.

Around 45 miles later, at junction 29, take the A617 exit to A632/Mansfield/Matlock/Chesterfield.

From there, at Heath Interchange, take the second exit onto A617, then four miles later, at the roundabout, take the third exit onto Chesterfield Road North/A617.

Turn right on to the A617 a mile later, before turning left a mile after that on to Abbott Road/A6075. Turn right onto Brick Kiln Lane and go through one roundabout before turning left on to Skegby Lane/B6014.

Continue on to Sheepbridge Lane and then turn left on to Quarry Lane. Turn left again half a mile later, then take a slight right and the stadium should be on your right.

Remember the address is: One Call Stadium, Quarry Lane, Mansfield, NG18 5DA.

PARKING

There is some parking at the ground which costs £5, while there is also the station car park, which costs £4 for the day.

This car park is located behind the adjacent Portland Retail Park, which means it is handily placed for the away end. It is also signposted from the town centre ring road.

Otherwise, it is a case of finding some street parking, especially on parts of the Nottingham Road and side streets off it.

Fans are asked not to park in the retail park itself, behind the away end. This is because parking there is restricted to two hours and is camera monitored, so you will end up with an expensive parking ticket if you do park there for over the time limit.

PUBS

There is a bar at the ground called the Sandy Pate (underneath the Ian Greaves Stand), which is free to enter. It welcomes away fans and shows Sky Sports but does get quite busy on matchdays.

The Talbot pub on the Nottingham Road (A60), near to Sainsbury's, only admits home fans, but opposite is the 'Il Rosso' which does admit visiting supporters who are not showing colours.

It is an upmarket wine bar and a little pricey, but does also have a good selection of beers and lagers, as well as a big screen TV. It tends to be popular with visiting fans.

There is also the Midland Hotel, on Station Road, which is around a ten minute walk away from the stadium. That also admits visiting supporters.

A similar distance from the stadium is the Railway Inn on Station Street. This basic pub has a mixture of home and away fans and offers local real ales and food. It is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

The Sir John Cockle pub is on the A38, going into Mansfield from the M1, and serves good food, while about a quarter of a mile past that on the A38 is The Bold Forester, which has about 10 real ales and provides good value food. It is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

Away fans are told to avoid the Victoria Hotel and Red Lion Pubs, while it is advised to also steer clear of pubs in the town centre.

However, there is a Wetherspoons called the Court House, situated in Market Place, which is also listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.
