Armthorpe Welfare 1 Farsley Celtic 3
The Celts booked themselves an all-Blue Square Premier tie in the next round of the West Riding County FA Cup against Halifax Town after putting Armthorpe Welfare out in the first round tonight.
The big boys had to do it the hard way by coming from a goal down but their better fitness levels told as caretaker manager John Deacey claimed his first win in charge following their home defeat to York City last Sunday.
Armthorpe took the lead in the 19th minute through Henry Siberge but Farsley were level at the break after Michael Pearson rifled in from the edge of the area three minutes before half- time.
Farsley are without a fixture in the league this weekend so Deacey fielded a strong side to maintain the sharpness of the squad.
It paid dividends as Andy Watson and Gareth Grant ran in late goals.
