SALTAIRE AA

With the canal being very clear for the last silvers match it was always going to be hard for the anglers. Making the most of the gap in the moored boats was Chris Smith (Matrix Halifax) who caught roach, skimmers and perch to finish with 6lb 12oz, peg 18, 2 David Colbran (KL Tackle Keighley) 5lb 4oz, peg 17, 3 Simon Walton (Matrix Halifax) 4lb 11oz 8dr, peg 19. Next match will be on Sunday, January 26. To book on give Richard East a call on 07815 09296.

There is a river match planned for this Sunday depending on if the river is fishable. To book on call Carl Chadwick on 07955-727079. Please avoid calling in working hours 7.30am-5pm weekdays as the use of mobile phones are not permitted at work. Draw will be held 8.45am at the Sir Norman Rae Pub, Market Square, Shipley,BD18 3QB. Entry fee £15.

There will be a pike match this Sunday using the Boats Section in Shipley. Fishing is 10am til 3pm. Draw 9am on the bankside. Please book on by Saturday as no entries will be taken on the day. To book on please contact Lee on 07496-445303.

Year books are now in the shops and need to be purchased before heading out onto the bank. They are available from the following outlets only: Angling and Country sports, Otley, Eccleshill Angling, KL Tackle, Keighley, WH Kershaw Domestic Repairs, Shipley and Forresters Arms, Grassington. Yearbooks need to be purchased before fishing any of our waters in 2020. The prices are the same as previous years with no joining fee. Adults £22, juniors (18 & under) £11, Ladies £11, OAPs £11. Second rod permit £5.

LEEDS & DISTRICT ASA

The results of Saturday's event at Kippax Park: M.Rockingham (73lb 9oz), A.Middleton (46lb 3oz) and J.Brogden (41lb 5oz).

The results for Tuesday, January 7: G.Willmore (21lb 15oz), S.Pearson (15lb 12oz) and A.Broomhead (13lb 11oz).

Moor Monkton pools result on Wednesday January 8: S.Mazza (59lb 8oz), G.Towey (47lb 14oz) and M.Green (28lb 3oz).

The results of the Sunday match in the same location: C.Watson with 25 carp for 64lb 13oz, D.Wright 47lb 7oz, S.Jeffreys 37lb 7oz and G.Miller 35lb 2oz.

One competitor landed a catfish of over 11lb on Sunday with the results as follows: R.Worsnop (51lb 12oz), B.Fisk (44lb 10oz) and L. Smith (38lb 8oz).

Would members please note that the office phones are not manned full time. They are only manned on Mondays and Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.

The angler who was caught fishing without a membership book and gave the wrong details was taken to court and now has a criminal record.

Work continues at Knotford to upgrade the site with a container being installed.

Grayling anglers continue to make good catches from our Wharfe fisheries.

Now that the rivers are running at normal level some pike up mid doubles have been caught from the Ouse whilst grayling anglers have had good catches from the Wharfe.

LISTERHILLS AA

No one should now be fishing in club waters who is not in possession of a 2020 membership book or a day ticket.

Members who previously obtained their books from tackle2u and are now experiencing difficulty, or those searching for details of where to obtain permits, should contact the secretary on 07518721051.

We require more watchers for our canal fishery - anyone interested please contact any committee member.

Lure anglers have reported catching perch and a few pike.

The new length of the canal, which is at Rodley opposite the tow path, is expected to be ready for anglers by Easter.

It will have secure parking, a short walk to the swim and a cabin with facilities to have a brew up.

No non-anglers will be allowed on the site.
