KEIGHLEY RUFC have passed on their condolences to the family of Eric Burns, a popular and committed member of the club who passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday evening at the age of 89.

Although he never played for Keighley, he was an active member of the Wednesday Morning Gang; a former committee member and one of those who played dominoes at the club on a Friday evening. His son Tony is a current committee member.

Eric was a keen walker, mountaineer and potholer, being a member of both Burnley and Craven Potholing Clubs in the 1940s and 50s.

He would have been 90 on April 9.

The club want their sincerest condolences to go to Eric's wife Margaret, and his two sons Paul and Tony, at this sad time.

Funeral arrangements will be added once they are known.
