GUISELEY ended Altrincham’s run of five straight victories in the Vanarama National North as they came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw away at one of their promotion rivals.

The Robins took the lead around the quarter hour mark when Tom Peers converted Shaun Densmore’s ball into the area. The Lions equalised soon after the half hour mark thanks to a superb effort from the edge of the area by Kaine Felix.

Guiseley had a bright start to the second half but the home side weathered that and came back to have a good spell themselves. It continued to be an end to end game but neither side could find that winning goal.

Lions’ joint manager Marcus Bignot said: “We have said for a few weeks how good our away form is and we have got a good point from a hard earned draw against the form team in the division.

“In the second half we took the game to them but they came back at us, it was a bit like a basketball game. Both teams would have been disappointed to lose that one.”
