SWINDON boss Richie Wellens is reported to have confirmed that a recall option for Eoin Doyle exists and comes into effect shortly after tomorrow's clash with the Bantams.

Both clubs have previously stayed tight-lipped over whether such a clause existed, though it is common practice for there to be a contingency option in January on season-long loans.

Doyle has scored 23 goals for the Robins in the first half of his loan spell from the Bantams.

According to the Total Sport Swindon Twitter feed, Town boss Wellens has now spoken publicly about a recall option during the transfer window.

He told @TotalSportSwin: "It's a strange situation. The breakout clause is a few days after the Bradford game. Conversations are ongoing and we will see what we can do. If we can't do something then we will have to look elsewhere and Bradford will have to fit Doyle into their team.

"We will let Bradford make that decision and will move on if needs be."

Bantams boss Gary Bowyer told the T&A he has been in regular contact with the free-scoring Irishman since he joined Swindon from City in August.

Doyle admitted in an interview before Christmas he would be "disappointed" to leave Swindon, who top League Two.
