York City 2

Bradford (Park Avenue) 1

BRADFORD (Park Avenue)'s woes continued as they crashed to a 2-1 derby defeat against York City at Bootham Crescent in Vanarama National League North.

Goals from Macauley Langstaff and Jordan Burrow condemned Mark Bower's strugglers to another loss.

But there was at least one positive moment for Avenue as they grabbed a consolation through Liam Hughes with the last kick of the game.

First blood went to the Minstermen in the 13th minute via a Macaulay Langstaff strike after the hosts looked the livelier of the two sides.

Avenue recovered well and had a couple of chances to equalise.

Avenue came inches from levelling on 17 minutes as Adam Nowakowski headed just over.

Ryan Hall found himself through on goal a minute later, but his first touch is a little too strong and York keeper Pete Jameson managed to get to the ball.

Avenue's Nicky Clee was put through down the left of the box and fired in at the near post, but York keeper Pete Jameson snuffed out the danger as the hosts went into ten interval 1-0 up.

Avenue enjoyed the first opportunity of the second period, on 51 minutes, but a desperate looking shot from Jon Royle goes comfortably into Jameson's hands.

Ten minutes later York came close to doubling their lead. Kieran Green raced through the Avenue defence but his effort went wide.

The visitors went close to levelling the scores 20 minutes from time, but Ryan Hall's efforts were well saved by Jameson.

York confirmed their victory 10 minutes from time when Paddy McLaughlin pass was converted by Burrow.
