FIELD showed their class in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division on Saturday, thumping visitors Huddersfield Amateur 4-1.
The win keeps them in fourth, but they are now just two points behind Ilkley Town in third.
Horbury Town are just four points clear in second, having played a game more than Field, but the title race looks to be almost over.
Beeston St Anthony's won their 13th game out of 14, 2-0 away against Robin Hood Athletic, to move 10 points clear at the summit.
Campion blew a great chance to move within four points of Division One leaders Shelley, collapsing to a terrible 3-0 defeat at mid-table Hartshead.
Otley Town boosted their promotion chances though, winning 3-2 in a thriller at East End Park. That put them in fifth, but they have several games in hand on the teams above.
Rawdon Old Boys are in a similar situation, with their current position of seventh looking faintly ridiculous.
They crushed high-flying Glasshoughton Rock 6-1, with Craig Nicholls and Oliver Nightingale both scoring twice.
Oxenhope Recreation remain bottom, but they picked up their second win of the season with a brilliant 4-0 success at Pool. Dan Scott netted a fine brace.
Salts saw their match with Wyke Wanderers postponed.
Matthew Bailey scored four as Salts Reserves went second in Alliance Division One by beating Huddersfield Amateur Reserves 7-1.
Title chasers Field Reserves were frustrated by a postponement at fellow high-flyers Horbury Town Reserves, but at least they had a better day than Otley Town Reserves, who suffered an awful 8-0 home defeat to Headingley Reserves.
Second-placed Ilkley Town Reserves made use of their main side having a week off, with first-team regular Tom Smith hitting an Alliance Division Two hat-trick in their 10-0 win over poor Brighouse Sports Old Boys Reserves.
Pool Reserves are just two points clear of the bottom after they were well-beaten, 5-2 at Kirk Deighton Rangers Reserves.
Finally, Wyke Wanderers Reserves and Tingley Athletic Reserves did not get to play at all, as their match was postponed.
