BRADFORD (Park Avenue) have a chance to push themselves off the bottom of the Vanarama National League North table if they can produce a shock win at sixth-placed Spennymoor Town.

Mark Bower's side travel to Brewery Field knowing a victory would place them above fellow strugglers Blyth Spartans, who are currently one point above them, if other results are to go the West Yorkshire side's way.

Here’s all the news, analysis and insight that you need ahead of Saturday’s 3:00 pm kickoff.

Form guide

Despite being knocked out of the Buildbase FA Trophy, thanks to a 2-0 defeat at Halesowen Town in a first round replay, Avenue sealed their first league win in seven against Altrincham at Horsfall, a fortnight ago.

The victory left Bradford on 12 points, still six adrift from Kettering Town, who also have a much superior goal difference.

Meanwhile, the home side are unbeaten in their last 12 league victories, picking up the three points on seven occasions, to leave them firmly in the playoff picture.

Although, Town did suffer FA Cup and FA Trophy exits to the hands of Chorley and Leamington along that spell.

Team News

Bradford were forced into naming a depleted squad in the two Halesowen ties due to a number of their first team players being cup-tied.

The likes of Nicky Clee, Tom Clare and Jon Royal should return but Avenue will be without their number one who is set to sit out of the Christmas period after suffering a leg injury on Tuesday.

Spennymoor will be able to call upon former Avenue players Ben McKenna and Adam Boyes, while Glen Taylor tops their goalscoring charts with 16 in all competitions.

Possibly line up

Battle to watch: Tom Clare v Ryan Hall

Clare has has a great start to his Avenue career, scoring on his home debut in the 2-0 win against Altrincham and coming on to cause problems at Chester.

Bower will be hoping missing out on the FA Trophy fixtures will have motivated the 20-year-old to make a huge impact in his team's trip up north.

On the other hand, Hall has been in inspiring form for the hosts, scoring on his first start at Leamington in the 2-2 draw last weekend.

The Bradford defence will have to keep an eye out for his electric pace as he attempts to add to his tally.

Head to head

The two teams are familiar foes in the last few years, with the pair meeting on six occasions since crossing paths in August 2017.

The most memorable clash has to go down as last year's 1-0 win for Spennymoor which booked their place in the playoff semi-final.

Bradford have came on top twice overall while Town have been victorious three times.

The most recent meeting was the 1-1 draw earlier this season, when the visitors denied Avenue a first home win with a 90th minute equaliser.
